Hybrid and Electric Vehicles are becoming more common as we strive to reduce our CO2 emissions as a society.

With a hybrid vehicle no special infrastructure is required. However this is not the case for an Electric Vehicle

Whilst an electric vehicle can be charged using a 13A extension lead this is not advised due to the extra time taken to charge the vehicle. It also presents more dangers due to insufficient infrastructure and poor charging equipment.

Owning an electric vehicle can introduce an effect known as "Range Anxiety" where the motorist is constantly searching for the next charging point for their vehicle

As more electric vehicles join the UK road networks more EV charging points are being installed in service areas, businesses and homes.

Each electric vehicle requires a dedicated charging point which must be installed by a qualified professional.

Here at edTeq we partner with Rolec who have a wide range of EV charging units available

It is also possible to get government funding from the Office of Low Emission Vehicles

https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/office-for-low-emission-vehicles (opens a new window) towards the purchase and installation of an EV charging point.  This can be claimed with the purchase of a new electric vehicle: Please ask for details.
